Recently in a forum post on Steam, one player of the game revealed his thoughts about the fact that Scott Cawthon himself is the final boss in the hard mode of 'FNAF World.'
After getting criticized for not issuing a spoiler warning by other actual fans of the game, Cawthon commented on the forum to explain that he didn't insert himself in the game because of ego.
'Not ego, I just figured a lot of people might want to kill me at this point,' said Cawthon.
Admittedly, the comment is a bit morbid on the part of Cawthon, but it also seems to imply a bit of humorous attitude toward the somewhat zealous nature of both 'Five Nights at Freddy's' fans and haters alike.

The morbid feeling of the comment about people wanting to kill him probably comes from Cawthon's recent apology for rushing the release of 'FNAF World.'

'I got too eager to show the things that were finished, that I neglected to pay attention to the things that weren't. I'm going to fix this, and I'll be updating the game with these features in the coming weeks,' said Cawthon earlier this week.
While it's probably a bit of both humor and seriousness that Cawthon made himself a necessary kill in 'FNAF World,' fans appear to be overall supportive of Cawthon's sincerity as a creator.
After all, it's not every day that a developer apologizes for their mistakes with a game.
